Theater Consultant – Nextstage Design

Nextstage Design is a theater design firm that works with clients in the planning and design of performing arts spaces. Collin’s roles at Nextstage Design include project manager and BIM manager. As a project manager he leads external communication through design and construction, and coordinates internal teams in the creation of design drawings and specifications. As the BIM manager for Nextstage Design, Collin facilitated the firm’s transition to Revit and continues to develop tools and advance team member proficiency in the program.

Technical Director – Florida State Opera

As Technical Director for Florida State Opera Collin was responsible for leading full-time and seasonal staff in all scenic elements of production including carpentry, painting, props, automation, rigging, and projections. He was responsible for budgeting, technical design, and material acquisition for all main stage and outreach productions. He oversaw scene shop staff and venue staff in load-in, run, and strike of shows. He managed rental sets and props, and custom fabrications for outside clients.

Technical Director – Brevard Music Center

As Technical Director for Brevard Music Center Collin was responsible for leading a ten-person technical direction and carpentry staff in the full scenic production process for opera performances and fulfilling scenic and rigging needs for any of BMC’s over a hundred orchestra performances. He was responsible for festival safety across venues, pre-season and post-season planning, design, drafting, automation of a 20’ revolve, and scene shop and festival wide improvements.
